Welcome to the EIPC Website!
Since the formation of EIPC in 2009, members have been signatories to a common Sharing and Non-Disclosure agreement to facilitate exchange of Critical Energy Infrastructure Information (CEII) for EIPC studies.
Following that example, a similar Planning Coordinator and Transmission Planner Non-Disclosure Agreement (PCTP NDA) has been developed for use by all NERC Planning Coordinators and Transmission Planners, to facilitate sharing of CEII in support of compliance with FERC Order 1000 and NERC MOD-032. For convenience this NDA is posted here and information on communicating with the PCTP Tracking Coordinator is posted under the Contact tab of this web site.
The EIPC was initiated in 2009 by a coalition of regional Planning Authorities current membership. These Planning Authorities are entities listed on the NERC compliance registry as Planning Authorities and represent the majority of the Eastern Interconnection.
The EIPC provides a grass-roots approach which builds upon the regional expansion plans developed each year by regional stakeholders in collaboration with their respective NERC Planning Authorities. This approach provides coordinated interregional analysis for the entire Easter Interconnection guided by the consensus input of an open and transparent stakeholder process.
The EIPC received funding from the U.S. Department of Energy beginning in 2010 for three projects. (Learn more about the DOE-funded project.) This work was completed in 2014.
